Nominated ANC MP Godfrey Osotsi has cautioned Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala against speaking ill of ODM boss Raila Odinga.
Osotsi told Malala that the senator owes his current status and position to Raila and as such, Malala should respect Raila.
“Malala you have been a beneficiary of Raila Odinga and you need to respect Raila Odinga,” Osotsi said, referring to a statement Malala made on Sunday, June 13 while on an ANC party popularisation tour in Mombasa.
While dismissing the possibility of the revival and reunion of NASA, Malala claimed that the coalition did not benefit ANC.
“We are no longer interested in a a marriage that is abusive. Hiyo ndoa ya NASA imekwisha ladha. We want to find new partners. Tulienda 2017, Bunduki ya Raila ikapiga miss. Tutaruhusu tena 2022 twende mbele na yeye na bunduki yenye haina risasi kweli.” Senator Malala said.
Osotsi called out Malala for the remarks the senator made accusing him of misleading their party leader Musalia Mudavadi by calling Raila names.
“When Raila was fighting for change where were small boys like Malala? You can not be calling Raila names just because you want Musalia to be on the ballot so that you get the seat in Kakamega,” Osotsi fired.
The nominated MP then advised Malala saying the people of Kakamega will vote for Malala as their governor because he has the best manifesto and not because the senator has been riding on Mudavadi’s back.
According to the nominated MP, Malala and a section of ANC politicians including Lugari MP Ayub Savula are fronting Mudavadi for the country’s top seat so that they can ride on their bosses’ popularity.
“I support a formation where former NASA principals, Gideon Moi and possibly President Uhuru Kenyatta are in one coalition. But let’s not blackmail Raila Odinga, Raila has fought for change in this country,” Osotsi said.
